Tai Chi, which originated in China as a martial art, is a mind-body practice in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
Tai Chi is sometimes referred to as "moving meditation"—practitioners move their bodies slowly, gently, and with awareness while breathing deeply.
This Cedar Park Tai Chi school has designed its curriculum to be fluid to meet student interests and learning styles. No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. This class will introduce qi gong (breathing), taiji walking exercises, and movements from the foundations of the Yang-style 24-step form. We discuss proper technique and martial applications to give you a more comprehensive understanding of the form. Be comfortable — wear loose pants and lightweight, soft-soled shoes. Keep in mind Tai Chi builds your body awareness because it asks you to consciously move your eyes, hands, arms, waist, and legs all at once — no easy task! Don't let yourself get frustrated, just try to get the hang of what you can.
