It's been forever since I've done a newsletter; lots of exciting things are happening at Rockhold Karate for July and August.  Last night we had our first Point Sparring Workshop on Friday, July 7, 2023. Getting the Rockhold Karate Team prepped for the Round Rock Karate Tournament in August. So let's jump into the rest of the upcoming events!

The interesting thing about Yuk Ro Cho Dan

Tang Soo Do is a Korean martial art that combines elements of Karate, Kung Fu, and ancient Korean martial arts. One of the key components of the art is the practice of Hyungs, which are pre-arranged patterns that students use to develop their techniques and skills. In this article, we will take a closer look at one of the more interesting Hyung series in the art of Tang Soo Do / Soo Bahk Do: the Yuk Ro Hyung series.

How to do stretch kicking for Tang Soo Do

Welcome to How to Do Stretch Kicking for Tang Soo Do. I'm Chris Rockhold at Rockhold Karate. Today I'm going to do a walkthrough of five stretch kick techniques. The first stretch kick will be a front stretch kick. Second one will be back stretch kick. The third one will be a side stretch kick. The fourth one will be an inside-outside stretch kick. And the fifth one will be outside-inside stretch kick. With these five kicks, this should help loosen up your legs, your hip sockets, and all the muscles in the lower extremities. So let's get set up.
